Tanksi Clairmont is the Co-Executive Director of Tribal Energy Alternatives (TEA), a Native-led affiliate of GRID Alternatives and the first Indigenous-led organization of its kind dedicated to expanding renewable energy access across Tribal communities. As a Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Sicangu Lakota, Tanksi has spent her career at the intersection of environmental justice, energy sovereignty, and Indigenous self-determination. Her work focuses on building sustainable infrastructure, workforce development pathways, and culturally grounded energy solutions that empower Tribal nations to reclaim control over their energy futures. Through her leadership, TEA is not only deploying solar energy systems but also creating economic opportunity and restoring long-term resilience in communities historically excluded from the clean energy transition.
